    Workplace Challenge 2014 Winners!

For the fourth year running, an Ashmount staff team - Classroom Support Assistant Karen Nooney, Assistant Head Abi Steady and Deputy Head David Deacon - has been named the overall winners of the Workplace Challenge. Staff were required to log their sports and physical activity onto an online database for 8 weeks from Monday 6th January to Sunday 2nd March. This year, the competition was rolled out nationally with more than 11,700 individuals from over 2,200 workplaces taking part. The team has won a visit from an Olympian / Paralympian to our school and 15 sponsored entries to the World Corporate Games being held in Liverpool in June.

  • LSU Sing sell out performance in aid of Ashmount

    Mon 03 Mar 2014
On Saturday 1st March LSU Sing! (formally Loughborough Students Union Gospel Choir) performed their Spring Showcase at The Cope Auditorium on Epinal Way Loughborough to a sell out crowd. The choir sang a full set of songs including the number 2 Happy by Pharrell.

All the proceeds from the event will go to The Ashmount Appeal.

Dave went on stage to thank the choir for all their work for the school and to mention that they sang at our official opening on February 6th.

LSU Sing! have been great supporters of the school over the years and anyone who heard them perform for our official opening in February knows how stunning they are.

  • School given defibrillator

    Sat 01 Mar 2014
On Friday 28th February Dave and school nurse Faye Fuller attended the HeartSafe launch event at Leicester Tigers stadium on Welford Road. This was to promote CPR and heart attack recovery in the County. Dr Doug Skehan spoke to a packed audience and each school present was given a £2,000 defibrillator to keep in school. The statistics on heart attack recovery following correct CPR and use of a defibrillator prove the value of such training. Later training for all staff will follow.
