On the 14th and 15th of February our school was inspected by Ofsted. In line with their self evaluation the SERCO inspection team judged the school as Grade 1 – Outstanding in all major categories, placing it in the top 35% of special schools nationally.
These include overall effectiveness, capacity for sustained improvement, and the quality of teaching and leadership. The extra sections for early years and sixth form in this 4 to 19 age school were also graded as outstanding.
Chair of Governors Jean Lewis said: “This Outstanding Ofsted judgement is a well-deserved tribute to the dedication and consistent effort of everyone in school. The Governing Body are delighted with the report, and send their warmest congratulations to everyone at Ashmount.”
