Performers from the Sinfonia Viva orchestra have been working with a group of our pupils on a collaborative musical project—culminating in a performance at De Montfort Hall last month.
Publicly recognised for its work with young people and adults, Sinfonia Viva works alongside a wide range of partners on bespoke creative musical and performance opportunities for groups around the UK, and is dedicated to both the artistic and social impact of its education and outreach work.
The Shine Project is part of a wider multi-school project, with the orchestra working in small workshops within our school.
The children have loved the opportunity to engage with the musicians and play instruments as part of an orchestra. They learnt a number of songs and loved singing as part of a huge, inclusive choir—both within school and at the theatre.
